Day 1:   NAIROBI / NAIVASHA

You will be picked up from Nairobi and depart for Lake Naivasha. Mid afternoon is at leisure with suggested one and a half boat ride on Lake Naivasha. The evening is at leisure and in the evening you have dinner and retire for the night. Overnight at Naivasha Sopa lodge or similar

Day 2:  MASAI MARA

You depart Naivasha for the Mara to arrive in time for lunch. Mid afternoon is at leisure and at 1600hrs you go for your afternoon game drive and thereafter return to your camp/lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

The Masai Mara is a vast game reserve with undulating plains, hills and woodland grooves in the southwest corner of Kenya, shares its southwestern border with Tanzania. This is lion and elephant country with leopard, cheetah and a recovering population of black rhino. The Mara is home to several hundred species of birds and is famous for the annual migration of wildebeest thundering across the Mara plains from Serengeti. After dinner guests are at their pleasure to retire for the night.

Day 3:  MASAI MARA

After an early breakfast, you will be driven to the Mara River while searching for wild animals. The Mara River is full of exciting wildlife. The hippos and crocodile mingle in this extraordinary river awaiting the return of the wildebeest, which at times is still months away. Position yourselves in strategic points along the river and view the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle cross the Mara River. Your lunch will be served at the isolated picnic trees dotting the savannah. There is nothing as breathtaking as lunch under the African bananite trees in the picnic points of the Masai Mara. You will continue with your game drive through the Mara plains in search of more wild game including lions and cheetah etc. You will thereafter drive back to the camp in time for dinner. Day 4: ISEBANIA/SERENGETI

On this day you wake up early and drive to Isebania border where our partners will pick you up and continue with your safari. Enjoy the drive from the lake side to the savanna grass vegetation and amazing landscape on the way.

Day 5: SERENGETI

On this day you will have full day game drive in the reserve with picnic meals from the lodge .

 

This large and famous park covers over 14,700 sq. Km and joins at the border with Kenya, the equally famous Masai Mara National Reserve. With a wildebeest population of about 2 million and several other hoofed species (zebra, gazelles, impala, topi, kongoni, eland, dik-dik, klipspringer, roan, Oryx, oribi, waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe, warthog…etc…), the reserve is sure to attract a string of prey such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, golden jackals and bat-eared foxes. Elephants are relatively scarce and the few remaining black rhino are restricted to the Moru Koppies area. The reserve also offers rewarding bird-viewing with ostrich and kori bustard being common, a variety of larks, finches and raptors can be seen but the most distinctive small bird is the lilac-breasted roller. The reserve is sure to attract a string of prey such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, golden jackals and bat-eared foxes.

Day 6: NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

After an early breakfast in the camp, you depart with picnic lunch for Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you arrive between Midmorning and early afternoon and descend to the crater for game viewing; lunch will be taken at the bottom of the crater. In the evening you ascend and drive to your camp for dinner and overnight, you descend for about 600m down into this crater floor measuring over 260 sq. km with walls taking the shape of a natural amphitheatre. Dubbed “the world’s eighth wonder” it is an attraction of a kind providing abode to a variety of game; lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, reedbuck, gazelles and many more.

Overnight at Endoro Tented camp

 

Day 7: LAKE MANYARA

After an early breakfast in the camp, you will depart with picnic lunch for Lake Manyara National Park where you arrive for an afternoon game viewing drive to run until sunset when you return to you camp for dinner and overnight.

 

Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos. This beautiful park is at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and comprises of forest, woodland, grassland and swamps.

 

Gazelles, impala, buffalo, wildebeest, the famous tree-climbing lion, hyena, Baboon, giraffe, hippo, and a great number of smaller mammals, 350 species of birds, stork and flamingos. The park contains five distinct vegetation zones and is of scenic beauty.

Overnight at Burkina Manyara Lodge

 

Day 8:  AMBOSELI

On this day you travel to Tarakea Border town where you will be picked up and driven to Amboseli National Park enroute game drive to your tented camp.

 

Amboseli is known as the essence of Africa and covers about 400 sq. km. It has the most striking feature of the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro. No matter how many times you have watched movies or magazine pictures, nothing prepares you for the breathtaking first, real vision of the monolith. Seen from the seasonal Amboseli riverbed it rises another 5000m. Populations of elephant are among the highest in Africa. The vegetation is semi-arid acacia and grasses with papyrus edges in the swamplands. The parks’ 56 mammals include lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, zebra, hippo, black rhino, Maasai giraffe, Oryx, wild beast, gerenuk, impala and Grant’s gazelle. More than 425 birds’ species have been recorded.

DAY 9: AMBOSELI

On this day you have the option of a full day game drive or morning and evening game drives to explore the park with its large herd of elephant – one of the biggest in Africa. Visit the observation hill and swamps among other attractive places. In the evening you return to your camp with the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 10: DEPARTURE

Leave for Nairobi a per scheduled flight time with lunch or dinner at the carnivore restaurant.  After breakfast you will depart for Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport marking the end of the safari. Depending on your flight info we will transfer you to the airport accordingly.

Camera with zoom lenses

Extra pair of binoculars (if available).  All our vehicles have a pair each. 

 

Light clothing for the day and at least a sweater or coat for the evenings which might be cold at times.

ACCOMMODATION

 

Accommodation is permanent tented camps and lodges in fenced area with 24 hr. security.  All the tents/rooms have twin beds, instant hot showers, generator power, swimming pools, WI-FI, comfortable beds with mosquito nets and self-contained bathrooms.  The restaurant provides buffet menu for meals and European breakfast.  The bar is also well stocked.
