DAY 1:  Nairobi

Karibu Kenya! You will be dropped at a city Hotel for the night.


Distance – 20km

Drive time – less than 30min without traffic jam

Day 2:  Nairobi

You will be introduced to your tour guide / driver and proceed on your day trip in and around Nairobi. Nairobi City is the Capital of Kenya – a busy city with history dating back to the late 1800’s. A day’s excursion within Nairobi will let you acquire first hand info on this wondrous city.


Visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage – a wonderful morning outing to see orphaned elephants and rhino where you can also adopt one and follow its entire growth into adulthood. [2hrs]


The Giraffe Centre where you can see eye to eye with a Rothschild Giraffe and feed it with pony nuts. In the afternoon visit the Bomas of Kenya. It offers a presentation of African culture and dance. The Harambee dancers play an assortment of traditional musical instruments. Lunch will be served at the African themed village and the Nyama Choma Boma restaurant, which serves traditional Kenyan food. [2hrs]


In the evening a pleasant dinner at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden is planned for you. The menu is an eclectic one, featuring vegetarian, meat and seafood dishes complimented with very fine wine. The ambience in the main restaurant, Swedo and Terrace restaurants is worth the experience. [3hrs]


DAY 2: Aberdares

Drive from Nairobi to Nyeri. After lunch, a shuttle will drop you in the Aberdares National Park for relaxation and views of the wildlife that visit the waterholes.

Aberdares boasts of one of Kenya’s largest forest reserves and also acts as a historic site.  Queen Elizabeth II learnt of her father’s death in 1952 and consequently becoming the Queen of England. The vegetation is rich alpine and sub-alpine flora giving way at lower altitudes to bamboo forests and montane forests.


Animals of the forest zone include blue monkey, colobus, leopard, elephant, warthog, black rhino, giant forest hog, bushbuck, buffalo, duiker and suni. The open moorlands have serval, eland, duiker and the bongo.  More than 250 species of birds have been recorded.  Special features include trout fin moorland streams.

DAY 3: Samburu

Depart for Samburu National Reserve. Meet the local inhabitants -the Samburu, learn their colourful culture and watch the rare species of wild animals. The reserve is lava plain with steep sided gullies and rounded basement hills.  The Ewaso Nyiro Rivers forms 32 km of the southern boundary and it’s the park’s central feature. Animals found include elephant, cheetah, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Oryx, gerenuk, vervet monkey, zebra, buffalo and crocodile.  The vegetation is narrow riverine woodland of doum palm otherwise acacia woodlands with bush land, grassland and scrublands.

The hills and plains of this beautiful paradise maneuver the landscape charmingly.

DAY4:  Lake Nakuru

Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park via Thompson’s Falls (optional) (75 meters deep). Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the many parks in Kenya with a very large concentration of wild animals. Drive up the baboon cliff for panoramic views of the lake below.

DAY 5: Masai Mara

At over 1500 sq km, the Masai Mara is heart of the best game-viewing areas of Africa and the most spectacular of all Kenyan parks and reserves with animals, landscape and scenery in plenty. The Mara is one ecosystem with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and has nature’s most dramatic spectacles such of the wildebeest and zebra migration. From July to October every year, over 1.5 million wildebeest and other herbivores embark on an epic trek out of the Serengeti to the Mara.  Predators, which rely on the wildebeest for food, follow them. The result is a concentration of wildlife unequalled for its number and diversity anywhere in Africa.  It is also home to BBC’s Big Cat Diary series, showing the daily life and drama of resident leopard, lion and cheetah.  The vegetation is open grassland with patches of acacia woodland, thickets and riverine forests.

DAY 5: Masai Mara

The Mara holds one of the most spectacular views imaginable across the vast plains, forests and rivers. With teeming predators and migratory animals, the Mara is simply a memorable destination.

DAY 7: Nairobi

Travel back to Nairobi from the Mara with a meal later in the afternoon thereafter you will be dropped at the airport for your flight home.

Accommodation is permanent tented camps and lodges in fenced area with 24 hr. security.  All the tents/rooms have twin beds, instant hot showers, generator power, swimming pools, WI-FI, comfortable beds with mosquito nets and self-contained bathrooms.  The restaurant provides buffet menu for meals and European breakfast.  The bar is also well stocked.
